In Memory Of
Michael Hamblin
1960 - 2021
Michael was known for his fun spirit and loving nature. He was always smiling and very sociable. Michael wanted to meet and shake hands with people when out in public and gave constant hugs and kisses to the people he loved. He had a mischievous streak and a great sense of humor that seemed to diffuse any mischief-making. A great lover of music, Michael always wanted to listen to Barbara Streisand songs and would act as the Conductor while singing happy birthday to people (even if it wasn’t their birthday!). Michael loved apple pie and especially loved his visits to Lakeside Farms with Tracy, where he could eat homemade apple pie and shake hands with people walking by. Michael enjoyed being outdoors, going on wagon rides and visits to farmers markets.
Michael is survived by his three sisters Eileen Steffen (Rick), Diane Darling and Beth Lundgren (Mark); nieces Megan Palomino, Samantha Steffen and Annika Lundgren; nephews Nicholas Steffen and Alex Lundgren, and grand-nieces Emily Palomino and Isabella Palomino.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Schenectady ARC.
The family would like to thank everyone at Schenectady ARC and the caregivers at Karenwald and Glenville for their constant love and care of Michael throughout the years. Thank you to Chris O’Brien and Tracy for always being communicative with us and loving our brother when we were not able to be there.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 3pm-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service at the funeral home will begin at 4pm at the funeral home.
