David was born on September 10, 1952 in Albany, NY to the late Fannie Beatrice Butler and the late Tony Jacob Butler.
David was educated in the Rensselaer City School system. After high school he then enlisted in the United States Navy and served his Country as a Seaman. After returning home from service, he was a self-employed contractor.
David loved his family and enjoyed telling funny stories to keep everyone laughing. His infectious laugh touched everyone. He was a huge martial arts fan. And, loved hanging out with his dog Angel. He will be missed by all.
David is survived by his children Zachary Butler, Kyron Howard, David Sherrod, Jermaine Williams, Bianca Hindes and Jennifer Butler, his grandkids, great grandkids, his siblings Shihan Tony Butler, Jr. (Linda), Howard E. Butler, Anne Brunson, Rita A. Butler, Faye A. Butler and Rev. Arthur Lee Butler, along with a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Proceeding him in death are his brothers Earnest Venable, James T. Venable, Nathaniel Butler, Joseph Butler; his sisters Carrie R. Venable, Lillie Venable-Whitted, Marie Venable Jones, Nannie Bell Green and Irene Butler.
Calling hours for David are January 15, 2021, 10-11:30 AM, service 11:30-12:30 PM at New Comer Cremation & Funerals, Colonie, NY. COVID-19 restrictions apply. Please wear a mask. Interment will follow at 2 PM in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
