TROY - Waldo "Walt" R. Hunt, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Samaritan Hospital, after a long illness.

Walt was born on January 25, 1946 in Johnsonville and was the son of the late Edna M. (Bruns) Hunt and Raymond R. Hunt. He was a graduate of Hoosic Valley Central High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1964, serving four years active duty during the Vietnam War. He was with the Security Police as a dog handler. Upon leaving the military he went to work at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy as a painter, retiring in 2009.

Walt is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Helen (Laviolette) Hunt. He is survived by his siblings, Joyce Frisino (George) of Melrose, NY, Sherry Kelleher (Bob), Sandra Delurey (Donald), Edward Hunt and Thomas Hunt (Mary), all of Valley Falls, NY. He is also survived by a close friend, Eleanor Laviolette of Troy, NY. Also survived by two aunts, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, 2 great great nieces, one great great nephew and several cousins.

Waldo will be sadly missed and he is at peace now.

Funeral services will be private
