Charlotte Angel, age 97 passed away on May 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Charlotte was born December 25, 1922 in Catawba, NC born to the late Roland Winstead and Rosa Pointer of South Boston, VA. The middle child of 3 girls (Nellie and Louise, predeceased,) she lived with her uncle and his wife to assist with their children. She managed to complete most of her high school before following her older sister north. Traveling north, she stayed with family in Philadelphia and New York City. On search for her family she found her sister and their father in Albany, NY.
She met her soulmate, Tomas Angel (Anglin) through her sister, they joined in union on Oct 11, 1949. She worked as a home worker, nurse aide and caregiver. She cared for many after having 4 of her own. She began taking in neighborhood children and nurturing them as her own while adopting 3. In this time she also became a founding member of Captial City Seventh-Day Adventist church where she remained a member until she died. Though her husband passed away in 1971, she continued to raise her children, and children of the neighborhood alone with love. Her love and passion showed through the care of children, it was her lifeline. Listed below is her legacy. The impact of her life is gone beyond what anyone could imagine.
