Kenneth Donald Vinson, of Slingerlands, New York, passed away suddenly on January 7th, 2020, peacefully at home, at the age of 60.

Kenneth was born on March 17, 1959 in Albany, NY to the late Oveater Vantry and Donald Vinson.

He attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, where he studied Human Services. Kenneth was employed at Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth, located in Columbia County for almost 40 years, as a Senior Counselor. He was fondly referred to as “Vee”, by the children, staff, and colleagues. This is where he met his future wife, Marie Bailey.

Kenneth loved music, martial arts, sports, reading and mentoring young people. He was a leader and role model for many young men and staff, and prided himself on teaching, and exemplifying African American History and Culture in today’s lifestyle.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted, loving wife of over 27 years, Marie; his son, Jonte Wiggins; his sister Veedia Snell; Brother Roderick Vantry; niece Cindy Drago; nephew; Christopher Snell, and a host of other family and friends.

The Viewing Visitation Service will be held at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY, on Friday, January 17th at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow the viewing at 6:00 PM.
