NISKAYUNA – Bibi Gurmej Kaur, age 80, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Bibi Gurmej Kaur was born in the village of Marula, in the state of Punjab, India, on October 10, 1939. She was a dedicated homemaker as she and her beloved husband, Sardar Malkit Singh, lovingly raised their four children, and she was a doting and loving mother and grandmother for her extended family. All members of the family adored her loving nature. She made everyone feel special.

Bibi Gurmej Kaur is survived by her beloved husband, Sardar Malkit Singh, and she was the matriarch of a large extended family. She leaves behind her four children, Sukhdev Singh (Gurjit Kaur), Satwinder Singh (Dalbir Kaur), Kashmir Kaur (Nashatter Singh Bains), and Jagdish Kaur (Balbir Singh Garcha). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, David Singh, Sham Singh, Iqbal Singh, Inderjit Singh Bains, Randeep Singh (Rocky), Amar Kaur, Amman Kaur, Simar Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, and Mandeep Kaur. She will be greatly missed by the sangat (congregation) of Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara Sahib Sikh temple in Niskayuna which she regularly attended.

Viewing and memorial services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 6 PM to 8 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Cremation services will be on Saturday morning, January 11, at 11 AM in the Gardner Earl Chapel and Crematory, 186 Oakwood Avenue, Troy, NY 12180, 518-272-7520. Immediately following cremation, all are welcome to attend the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Gurdwara (Temple) for religious services, at 1944 Union Street, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
