ALBANY- On Friday November 22, 2019 God in His infinite wisdom, chose another of His children, Priscilla Lee Johnson, to come home, at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Castleton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Priscilla Lee Johnson daughter of the late Gussey and Lee Ann Williams, was born in Buffalo N.Y on November 19, 1938. Priscilla’s early education was in Buffalo. She attended Public School #32 and graduated from Girls Vocational High School. It was there she developed a passion for sewing and upon graduation moved to Brooklyn, N.Y and attended Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City. Her first job was as a wardrobe seamstress for the prestigious Old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City and she continued her career as a seamstress for many years. She took special pride in making her children’s suits and dresses for Easter Sunday, as well as wedding and prom dresses for several nieces and other family members who were honored to have her apply these skills and wear her creations.

Priscilla confessed Christ at an early age at St. Lukes’s A.M.E Zion Church Buffalo, N.Y. She later became a member of Christ Gospel Baptist Church, St. Albans, N.Y. and served as a faithful member of the Helping Hands Committee on the Trustee Board and as an Usher for many years. In 2004 she moved to Albany NY Where she attended Glory House of Prayer, Colonie, N.Y.

Priscilla was united in Holy Matrimony at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Brooklyn N.Y., 60 years ago to her soul mate Robert Johnson on September 12, 1959. She was devoted to her family and God embraced Priscilla to be a loving foster parent from 1967-1997. She provided a loving and caring home for many, many years. She fostered countless children and continued to be in their lives in a parental role until her untimely death. During her many years as a foster parent she received numerous awards for he excellence in fostering children. Priscila was proud to serve for many years on the Foster Parents Advisory Board for Louise Wise Service Adoption Agency and received repeated acknowledgements for her thirty years of services.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents Gussey and Lee Ann Williams and sisters, Ollien Ruffin and Clara Mae Cobbs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband Robert Johnson, five children, Robert Johnson of Bangor Maine, Lee Ann Johnson, Zachary Johnson of St. Albans, N.Y., Corrine Johnson and Cheryl Johnson of Albany, N.Y.

Priscilla also leaves six grandchildren, Robert Johnson III of Waco TX, Rashaad Johnson of Waco TX, Shawn-Nee Johnson of Bucksport, ME., Edwin Felipe of Jamaica N.Y., Jaylen Munro and Mia Rogers Of Albany, N.Y. And, six great grandchildren, Gary Kane Johnson of Fayetteville AK., Malia Johnson of Waco TX, Kameron Johnson of Bucksport ME, Robert Blaze Johnson of Fayetteville Ak., and Rashaad Lamont Johnson, Jr. of Waco Tx. She leaves one brother Auguster D. Williams (Glendale) of Buffalo N.Y. and one brother-in-law, Charles (Evelyn) Johnson of Buffalo NY along with a host of nieces Nephews cousins and friends, and a special adopted daughter L’Tanya Gatling of Virginia Beach, VA. She also leaves a very special caregiver Jennifer Brown.
