JOHNSONVILLE – Gary C. Eggleston, 72, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born in Albany on September 8, 1947 a son of William and Delta (Mayo) Eggleston.

Gary was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. Before leaving overseas, he met Yvonne, his future wife who promised him she would write him while he was away. Soon after returning from the War, they married and built a family.

Gary was employed with Transworld Record Company; he was a truck driver with Eastman Freight; a machine repair man with Independent Contractor Supply and tied cable for a company in Hoosick Falls, retiring in 2013.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a son, Gary, Jr.; a brother, Bill Eggleston and a sister Shirley Flynn.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Yvonne (Kadio) Eggleston; a son, Darren Eggleston, a daughter Danielle (Patrick) Follett 4 grandchildren, Gabriel, Bryan and great granddaughter Kylie Follett and Skye Fowler-Eggleston; 2 sisters, Joan O’ Sullivan and Lil Smith; a brother, Dick (Shirley) Eggleston and many many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
