Arlene A. Cleary, 83, passed away on January 15, 2019. Born on June 9, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Pavlik) Lesniak. Arlene was the loving wife of 43 years to the late James Cleary, who predeceased her in 1999.
After graduating from St. Anthony High School and working in the payroll department for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune newspapers, she moved to the Capital District in 1956.
Arlene is survived by her five children, Michael (Susan) Cleary of Niskayuna, Susan Hester of Las Vegas, Kathleen Cleary (Frank Pioggia) of Halfmoon, Kevin (Joyce) Cleary of Guilderland and Thomas (Sarah) Cleary of San Antonio. Also surviving her are six granddaughters; Amanda, Nicole, Rachel, Kayla, Christina and Kady; and one grandson, Kyle. She was the sister to Lorraine Wohlford of Minneapolis and aunt to her three children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Arlene’s Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline Sophie Church in Guilderland on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:30 am. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 or St. Madeline’s Christ Child Society.
