Albany- John Frances Carkner, 69, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019. John was the son of the late Minard and Viola Carkner.
John was an avid comic book reader, movie fan and music buff. He never had a mean bone in his body and just wanted to make people laugh. John was also a poet. Family had a special place in his heart.
John is survived by his two sons, John and Jimmy Carkner; his siblings, Helen (Louis) Benedict, Jean Benedict, Bobby Carkner; long time companion, Valerie Zeh and many nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his brothers, Chuck, Minard and Edward.
A Graveside Service will be held at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave., Albany, on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Service time has been changed from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
