Albany- Mr. Matthew Davis, age 63, entered into eternal rest when called home by his creator on Friday, September, 28, 2018.

Born November 30, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York to Alberta Mayo and Matthew Davis, Sr. He was educated in the Brooklyn Public School District, where he obtained his General Education Diploma. He lived in Brooklyn before settling in Albany, New York. He worked at various jobs until becoming disabled and retiring.

Matthew was married to the love of his life, Ruth Davis. They shared an unbreakable bond filled with unconditional love, adoration and laughter. In the time leading up to his death, they had become closer than ever during their 29 year marriage.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth Davis; his children, Lateesha Alvea, Michael Davis, Lance Davis, Nola Davis, Shamaya Lateny; his brother, Reggie Davis (Ana) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Matthew was predeceased by his parents, Alberta Mayo and Matthew Davis, Sr.

Matthew was a friend to all and loved by many. He will be dearly missed.

A going home celebration will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205, where a calling hour will be held 1 hour prior starting at 10am.
