ROTTERDAM- Gary W. Spaulding, 65, passed away after a hard fought courageous battle with cancer on Monday, October 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born in Schenectady, NY on August 26, 1953 to Robert and Loretta Spaulding. Gary served his country honorably in the United States Army, serving overseas during the Vietnam War. After his military service he went on to work for Grassland Equipment and Irrigation as a Master Mechanic for over 30 years. On August 12, 1972 Gary married the love of his life, Nancy Lape. They were married for 46 years, and together they raised one son, Gary.

Gary is predeceased by his father, Robert E. Spaulding.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his son, Gary (Tina) Spaulding, his grandchildren, Devin, Dominic, and Sierra, his siblings, Robert (Michele Lebeouf) Spaulding, Phyllis (Bob) Hoyt, Alan (Christine) Spaulding, and Nancy (Claude) Havener, and a host of friends, family, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 11:00am-1:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Schenectady Memorial Park.
