Robert L. Devenpeck passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday August 9, 2018 at the age of 83.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Janis A. Devenpeck of 60 years.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his children; Kevin (Mary), Mark, Keith (Rochelle), Mae Spink (Mark), grandchildren; Margaret, Nicholas, Victoria, Tyler, Joseph, and Robert, and great grandchild Shane.

Dearest brother to Edgar (Adelaide), and Marshall (Nancy).

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Robert was born in Oneonta, NY, raised in Altamont and resided in Colonie. He worked for Farm Family Life as an Accounting Supervisor for 39+ years. Robert was a Veteran who enlisted in the US Army in 1955 and received an honorable discharge in 1956 at the rank of SP3 (T).

Robert was a member of Lisha’s Kill Reformed Church and joyfully served in many capacities. He was a diehard Mets fan. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed spending time and playing games with the grandchildren.


The visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205, on Tuesday August 14, 2018 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 11 am at Lisha’s Kill Reformed Church 2131 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304. Interment to follow at Lisha’s Kill Reformed Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider contributions made to The Community Hospice and/or Lisha’s Kill Reformed Church.
