He was a graduate of Albany Academy for Boys, continued his education at The University of Miami, and was currently attending SUNY Albany. Studying Economics, Jack had plans to continue on to Boston for graduate studies.
Jack grew up playing football, baseball and squash. He sat first chair playing the trumpet and was an avid learner who enjoyed reading the classics. He had a style all his own and an infectious personality. Jack enjoyed the finer things in life and had big plans for the future.
In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by two sisters and two brothers; Miranda (Ben) VonFricken, Brittany Elledge, Mitchell Dehler, and Vincent Dehler. He is also survived by his grandmother, Esther Dehler; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jack met the love of his life, Helene DiStefano, in the 7th grade, and planned to join her in Boston to start their future together.
Jack enhanced the lives of everyone around him. His love for life and positive energy will continue to inspire us all.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. A service will follow the calling hours at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
