LOUDONVILLE- Lorraine A. Cornell, 87, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born on September 20, 1930 to the late Charles and Anna Mackey in Albany, NY. She was the beloved wife of the late Ray Cornell II, for 60 years. Together they raised three children. Lorraine was a loyal employee to Sears in Colonie for 51 years, retiring in 2014. Lorraine was always giving of her time, and she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She never missed any sporting event, school function, or celebration for her grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ray Cornell II, and her siblings, Eddie Mackey, Loretta Dyer, and Billy Mackey.

She is survived by her beloved children, Karen (Michael) Mezz, Ray Cornell, and Michael (Sue Cappello) Cornell, her grandchildren, Jaime (Josh) Peck, Michael (Teresa) Mezz, Chris (Nikki) Cornell, Cori (Jason) Bilka, and Jason (Tracy) Cornell, her 12 great-grandchildren, her sister, Shirley (Howard) Klopfer, her in-law, Perry(Nancy) Cornell, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, 12211, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lorraine’s name to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. Her family would like to thank Karen, Robin, Jerry, Cory, and Kim for all of their care and compassion they had shown to Lorraine over the last several months.
