Evelyn Daniels
1951 - 2012

Evelyn Dean Daniels was called home by the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born in Cordele, Ga on November 24, 1951, the only child of Millie Thornton and Nathaniel Dean.

Evelyn attended Vienna Industrial High School in Viena, Ga., where she graduated in 1969. Shortly after, she relocated to Albany, NY, where she lived permanently and gained many life-long friends. Her high school sweetheart, Pastor Willie C. Daniels, followed her north and they married in November 1979.
In 1992, Evelyn started a business as a Licensed Group Home Daycare Provider, which she operated for nineteen years. In 2011, she graduated from Empire State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services. It was her passion to serve the disadvantaged through community work. She was truly a caring, loving, and thoughtful individual. Her selflessness, compassion, and generosity will be her legacy.

Evelyn was a member of the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She served the Lord diligently and faithfully as First Lady, Sunday School teacher, choir member, Deacon in Training, and as a dedicated child of God. She loved her church family, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Evelyn leaves behind seven children; Stephen Dean, Hii-Juane, Neil-Shaune, David, Destiny, Erin, and Danielle Daniels; eight grandchildren; Ty-mere, Delon, and Stephen Dean, Azariah Gamble, Joshua Tillman, and David Jr., Davionna, and Davion Turner. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The wake will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 from 10 am -12pm at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 269 Spruce Street, Albany NY 12210. The funeral will follow at noon. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
