A 1963 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School, George received a BA Degree in history from the State University of NY at Geneseo. George was very proud of his 3 year service in the US Navy aboard the USS Waldo County.
George is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha (Posnick) Morris; his sons: George Abraham and Robert Francis (Sheri); 3 grandchildren: Dylan, Blaze, and Leigh-Anne; his sister Patricia Appleton and several nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents George Sr. and Catherine (Cullen) Morris, his sister Kathleen Cowell, and nephews Joseph and William Cowell.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, August 27 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 28 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in George’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, New York 12110.
