In Memory Of
Frederick "Fred" Mueller
1943 - 2015

Port Orange. FL- Frederick Mueller, 71, of Port Orange, formerly of Loudonville, passed away on March 23, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn on May 9, 1943 and was the son of Paul and Frieda (Kluver) Mueller.
He spent his childhood years in Queens, prior to his family relocating to Glenmont. Frederick’s father Paul, Sr. opened the 1st Albany Pork Store in downtown Albany. It was here that Fred learned the butcher trade and eventually opened his own store in Albany. He retired from the butcher industry to become an Iron Worker, which in turn led to his final profession, Operating Engineer. He participated in the construction of many local structures that remain in use today.
Eventually Fred took a job with the City of New York as a specialized crane and heavy equipment operator, a position he held for 20 years immediately prior to retirement. While there he participated as one of the heroes involved in the massive clean up after 9/11.
After the passing of his beloved wife of 51 years in 2013, Fred moved to Florida to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Anyone that knew him knew that the sun always shined on Freddy.
Fred was a big New York Yankees fan that also loved to garden, restore old cars, and watch NASCAR racing. Most importantly, he enjoyed his grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer. He was very proud of them and their accomplishments and always attended their sporting events.
Fred’s kindness, generosity and words of wisdom will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Frederick is the loving father of Joanne (John) Hanson and Randolph (Michele) Mueller. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael and Jennifer Mueller. He was brother to Ludwig (Noreen) Mueller. Fred is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Gonyea and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Fred was predeceased by his brother Paul Mueller; his sisters-in-law Rita Mueller and Judith Allen; his brothers-in-law Richard Gonyea and Andrew Gonyea.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11 am. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frederick’s name to your local Hospice.
