Patricia (Margaret) Cain
Albany-

Patricia H. Cain, age 93, passed away July 10, 2018 following a long illness. Born Margaret Patricia Hourigan on June 18, 1925, she was a lifelong resident of the Albany area.

Pat's favorite childhood memories were made at the family home on the Mount Hope estate in Albany's south end. In 1942 she graduated from nearby Kenwood Academy of the Sacred Heart where she made many cherished lifelong friends.

After graduation, Pat joined the New York Telephone Company where she met her future husband, William P. Cain. They were married in 1947 and began their family in Albany, then moved to Guilderland, where Patricia would live for over 60 years. When her children became more independent, Pat was again employed for several years at Wells and Coverly men's clothier.

Patricia was predeceased in 1987 by her husband, William P. Cain, Sr., and by her sons; Patrick, Michael, Kevin and Timothy. She is survived by her son Peter (Elizabeth) of Canton, NY, daughter Pamela of Santa Monica, CA, son William (Lori) of Altamont, NY, and son Paul (Catherine) of Bernardsville, NJ. She also leaves behind granddaughters; Jessica, Emily, Kristen, Amelia, Katy and Lily, and grandsons; Morgan, Sanford, and Peter, as well as five great grandchildren. She is also survived by the children of her beloved brothers, John and Sanford Hourigan.

Pat loved the company of her family and friends and delighted in her children and their families. All who knew her will miss her unfailing encouragement, love, laughter and the uncommon dignity with which she lived her life right up to its end.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 17th at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland. All are invited to attend.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the compassionate care Pat received while a resident at Teresian House. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Patricia's name to the Teresian House Foundation, 200 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203, or via TeresianHouse.org.
