Albany- Norman S. Greer, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 4, 1940 in Albany, a son of the late Norman and Kathleen Maher Greer. Norm attended Phillip Schuyler High School. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and a retiree of the City of Albany Fire Department after 29 years. While Norm was with the fire dept, he was always doing odd jobs and was known for his go-getter spirit. The most important job Norm had was being a loving husband, father, brother, papa and friend; who to him family was everything and his whole life.

Norm is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Fiato Greer; daughters, Laurel Rice (Steven) and Eileen Horton (Cliff); brothers, Winston Greer (Jean) and William "Bill" Greer (Carolyn); grandchildren, Casey Horton (Jeremy), Joshua Rice (Cassie), Felicia Horton (Jesse) and Katilyn Rice (Jimmy); brother in law, William Fiato (Kathleen); nephew, John Fiato (Heather). Several nieces, nephews and Pete the Dog also survive.

Services for Norm will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, 12189, where calling hours will be held prior to the service starting at 10am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
