Guilderland - Elizabeth "Betsy" Anne VanDeloo, 66, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

Betsy led a busy and productive life. After doing a wonderful job raising her children, she began her career as a Teaching Assistant at Farnsworth Middle School (FMS). After retirement, she spent many happy days creating artistic pottery pieces at the Albany Art Center and cruising the ocean blue with our good friend Martha Miller.

With the skillful and compassionate help of Dr. Timmins and all the staff at WCCA, Betsy battled ovarian cancer for over six years. Their efforts allowed Betsy to take part in her son’s wedding and the birth of her beautiful granddaughter Paige.

The family would like to thank the many members of the FMS TA family that supported her during her illness. Special thanks to Kathy Whipple: AKA “sis,” Kate Prescott, Judy Tynan, Rose Ciancetta, and Estelle Shade who provided Betsy and our family with love and constant support as Betsy was ending her Journey.

Betsy is survived by her loving husband, Alfred; her children, Jennifer and John; Daughter in-law, Amanda ; grandchildren, Sierra, Ryan, and Paige ; sister in-law Maryanne Stephens; and many caring and loving friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carmen Road, Guilderland.

Donations may be made in Betsy's memory to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, www.ocrfa.org.
