Albany - Thelma "Love" Johnson, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 19, 1950 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Otis and Vernice Chandler Johnson.

Thelma will always be remembered for the love she had for everyone, she always had her home open to anyone and would always welcome you with food and open arms. She loved her hats, throwing parties and traveling. Most of all she was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Thelma is survived by her loving family, son, Corey J. Johnson (Debra); daughter, Alesa Love Johnson-Hundley (Orlondo); siblings, Lois, James, Callie, Herman, Willie, Louise, Bobie, Mary, Otis, Linda, Larry and Harry; grandchildren, Ke-Myra, Amira, Mya, Orlondo, Aveyon and Love; great-granddaughter, Anyirah; Aunts, Honey and Mattie. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Bowmen.

A funeral service for Thelma will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY, 12205. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4pm until the time of the service at 6pm. A Repast will be held after the service at the Friendship House, 955 State Street, Schenectady, NY, 12307.
