Salvatore Matthew Melillo
1988 - 2017

Colonie- Salvatore Matthew Melillo, 28, left us suddenly on Sunday, September 11, 2017. Sal was born on October 17th, 1988 to his loving parents, Thomas "Jody" and Lisa Melillo.

Sal graduated from Colonie Central High School in 2006 with an amazing group of friends who loved him. Sal spent many years playing football, his favorite sport, and felt most at home with his extended Colonie Pop Warner family. In his spare time, Sal loved listening to music, going hiking, camping, dirt biking and snowmobiling with his Father, and deeply cherished his time with his beloved dog, Luna.

Our beautiful blue-eyed son was simply trying to find his place in this world we all see as mean and harsh some days. To say this horrible loss has left so many broken hearts is an unbelievable understatement. Salvatore's (Swayze) family would like to thank his amazing friends that stood by him.

In addition to his loving parents, Sal will be forever missed by his sister, Heather and her husband Peter Primiano, grandparents, Eugene Melillo, and Matthew and Susan Dragotta, is a beloved nephew to, Kristen Knight, and Donna and Thom Tarasovich, cousin to Kyle and Matthew Knight, and Josef and Carissa Tarasovich.

Sal is predeceased by his grandmother, Barbara Melillo, great grandmother, Jennie Dragotta, great grandmother, Geraldine Brady, and great uncle, Gerald Brady.

A visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Sunday, September 17th, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 18th, 2017 at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at St.Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
