Scotia- Michael E. Caprara, 66, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on May 22, 2017 at his home. Born on May 4, 1951 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Gino and Dorothy (Farone) Caprara. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Mike worked at Kapstone Container as a graphic designer for over forty years until his retirement. Mike had many hobbies, including: fishing, wood carving, sketching, making furniture, designing and making jewelry. Mike was well known in the community and enjoyed having a beer after work with his many friends.
Mike is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Mary (Testa) Caprara; his sister Donna Caprara; his Uncle Albert and Aunt Margie, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike will be missed by all who knew him, including his four cats: Aldo Bianco, Angelo Bianco, Seraphina and Angel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27 at 11:15am at St. Mary’s Church, 156 E Main St, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to the LaSalette Shrine, 1109 Berne-Altamont Rd, Altamont, NY 12009.
