Martha D. MacQueen
1944 - 2023

SCHENECTADY- It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Martha Delores MacQueen, regret to announce her passing on January 27, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY.

She was born April 13, 1944, the eldest daughter of the late Philip and Florence MacQueen of Hillside Boularderie.

She is survived by her children: Dawn Allee Watson and Michael Economides; brother, David MacQueen (Dorothy); sisters: Joan Richardson (Kevin), Rose Bell and Barbara Kennedy; grandchildren: Jamel, Danita Marie and Skyla Rome.

Delores was predeceased by her husband Donald Watson, Christopher Economides, brother in laws: Leslie Mouland, James Kennedy and Loman Bell.

Delores left home at an early age to find employment in the USA and spent her adult years in the Boston and New York area where she worked and raised her family returning home on the rare occasion. Family hold many fond memories of growing up with Delores on a mixed dairy farm in Hillside. Hay rides in the summer, sleigh rides in the harsh winters. The smell of fresh bread baking everyday, churning butter and curds setting on the stove. Delores was known for her hard work and dedication to the task turning her hand to all farm chores hay making, gardening, milking cows, collecting eggs to name a few.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Albany, NY for their care and dedication where Delores resided for the past two years.

All are invited to attend her Graveside Services at Vale Cemetery, Schenectady on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11 a.m.
