1957 - 2022

Priscilla Schaap, 64, of East Berne, died peacefully on May 13 at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was born on Aug. 14, 1957, to the late Morris and Anna Willsey of Berne, New York.

Priscilla attended Berne-Knox-Westerlo schools before becoming a baker and cake decorator much of her life, to include working at Altamont Orchards, Grand Union, and Hannaford. Her work schedule meant early wake-ups and long hours to provide for her children. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, animals, and the outdoors.

Surviving is her soulmate and life partner of 34 years, Edward Pogoda; her daughter, Lisa Schaap; her son, Jason Schaap; her siblings, Daniel Gunville, William Willsey, Rachel Haley, David Willsey, and Karen Murrell; and 19 grandchildren.

There will be no services. For those who wish, contributions may be made in her memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
