Ballston Spa- Karl E. Asmus, 72, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 peacefully in his home. Karl was born in Syracuse, NY to Karl E. Asmus, Jr., and Virginia (Cosser) Asmus and was the second born of their six children.

Karl was predeceased by both his parents; brother, Kurt Asmus and sister, Kandy Asmus and is survived by siblings, Kraig (Skip) Asmus (Pauline), Kim Ahnert (Richard), Kip Asmus (Mary). Karl was blessed with three children by his first wife, Jane Fuller; his daughters, Kristie Giles (William), Katherine Russell (Bryce) and son, Klint Asmus (Barbara). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many great friends.

Karl retired from GE Power Systems where he worked as a welder for Local 301 IUECWA for many years and continued to serve as treasurer for the Pensioners Committee Local 301 up until days prior to his passing. Karl ran his own welding business following retirement from GE for several years until he closed it down to focus on his gunsmithing and reloading business, of which he was a distinguished expert in his field.

Karl's favorite things to do were hunting, listening to great music, spending time with his friends and family and participating in his ministry. Karl was the patriarch of his entire family.

There will be no public services. Karl believed in the resurrection to everlasting life through his death as promised to him by Jehovah God through his son, Jesus Christ. He spent his time on Earth proving his dedication by doing the will of his God, Jehovah.

Please remember him fondly, deeply and be joyous, "for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
