She was born in Messina, Sicily, Italy on December 30, 1935 a daughter of the late Filippo and Anna (Arena) Cannavo’.
Domenica came to the United States as a young woman. She worked for many years at Albany Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member for many years of Trinity Christian Church and more recently, Community Gospel Church in East Greenbush.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved children and animals. She will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by 4 siblings, Concetta, Antonino, Nicola and Nunzio.
Domenica is survived by her husband of 65 years, Marius; her children, Roseann Longo and Joseph M. (Carol) Longo; her grandchildren, Appollonia and Adam and her sisters, Maria, Giuseppa and Clara and many nieces and nephews.
An hour of visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to immediately follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the Community Gospel Church in East Greenbush or to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society.
