Albany~ Sontz, Roseann, 53 of Albany, NY passed gently through Heavens Gates into eternal peace in the early hours of Sunday August 29,2021. Roseann “Rosie” was loved by many and will be forever in our hearts. Rosie was born Roseann Latta on August 12th, 1968, in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom to Robert Latta and Sarah Mcghee Latta. Roseann was very proud of her Scottish roots and her accent was enchanting. Growing up, she loved to spend time with her childhood friend, Marie Mccafferty and her family in Scotland. Spending time in their caravan and loving the Glasgow nightlife. She had many wild nights and adventures.

Roseann had a love of children from an early age and knew that she wanted to work with them. She attended and graduated from Motherwell College in Scotland with an NNEB Degree and proceeded to chase her dreams. Rosie had an impressive career as a nanny and worked all over the world. She worked in London, Paris, Beirut, Italy, Scotland, and the United States. While in Italy, she worked and lived in the castle of a Contessa. Her career in NYC allowed her to meet many celebrities as she mingled with Madonna, Anthony Quinn, Sarah Jessica Parker, Molly Shannon, Julianne Moore and even Donald and Melania Trump who all loved her.

Rosie had an innate quality to sparkle in everything she did, and people gravitated to her confidence instantly. She also loved to teach and enjoyed being a Preschool and kindergarten teacher. She was always a favorite among parents and students who were drawn to her talents and charm. Roseann was always a stylish dresser and even during her illness was still shopping for all the latest fashions. An assignment in NYC led to her meeting her husband and love of her life, Joey whom she married in 1997. They proceeded to build a life together and moved to Albany, New York where they bought their first home. They had many adventures, and both loved to travel together. Roseann loved the beach, the ocean, the Cape, and Boston with all her heart. She even had her own Boston group of friends who brought her immense joy and always looked forward to her many trips there. Rosie enjoyed life and was always the life of the party with her Scottish wit and humor.

An excellent cook, she was known for her Scottish cooking with Shepherd's pie as her signature dish. Most Sundays, she would cook Shepherd's pie for her husband’s Sunday dinner. The love they shared was unconditional as they built a life and future together. Roseann loved her friends and spending time with her family.

Roseann is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 24 years Joey Sontz, sisters, Janet McMillan (Robert), Collette Hurst (Jeff), brothers, Sean Latta, Robert Latta Jr, Stepmom, Margaret Latta, sister-in laws, Mechelle Latta (Late Joe Latta), Lizette Strait (Alan), brother in-laws, The Reverend Christian A. Lehrer, Bertram Lehrer (Late Jill) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins in the United Kingdom, and countless friends around the world. She was much loved by Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Mary Sontz. She will be missed by her beloved cat Sadie.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sarah Latta and her brother Joe Latta whom she truly loved with all her heart. The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Megan Stewart who was truly there for Rosie on her final journey. The world is less bright without Rosie in it and God now has a new most beautiful angel to watch over everyone. Rosie will be forever loved, missed, and always in our hearts. Until we meet again, we will all always love you.
