Stavros Colydas, 84, of Latham, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Greece, he is the son of the late Constantine and Violetta Colydas.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Michael and sister Hariklia.

Stavros is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Niki, his daughters Catherine Markowski and her husband John, Violet Palombo and her husband Dana, and granddaughter Olivia Niki, brother Vasili, and sisters Patroula and Mina as well as many nieces and nephews.

For over 30 years, he was known as “Steve the Baker” at the Latham ’76 Diner, well known for his delicious cheesecake. His true passion was his love for his vegetable garden.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church 440 Whitehall Rd, Albany. Interment immediately following at Graceland Cemetery 680 Delaware Ave, Albany.
