Albany- Robert V. Rainville, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Robert was the son of the late Joseph and Marion Rainville. Robert was the devoted husband to Joan F. Rainville. They were married 53 years.

After high school, Robert joined the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, Robert became a bus operator with the CDTA until his retirement.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his entire family and loved baking for them. He was an avid gardener and bowler. Robert was a member of the Capital District Senior Softball League. One of his favorite things to do was watch his grandchildren's sports games. Robert enjoyed going to his CDTA's monthly lunches where he got to see all his close friends.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Robert V. (Josee) Rainville, Jr. and Amy C. (Mike) Palladino; grandchildren, Zachary L. Rainville, Zoe C. Rainville, Rachel C. Palladino, Michael J. Palladino, III, and Nicholas R. Palladino; his loving dog, Moe.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Tuesday June 15, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 11:30 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's name to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
