Peter Rozonewski, 66, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 in hospice care at Bethesda East Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. Born in Albany, he is the son of the late Cazimer and Katherine Rozonewski.

Pete served his country as an AP with the US Air Force in Plattsburg, NY before joining the Albany Police Department where he proudly worked for 20 years. Peter had many jobs from owning his own fence company to delivering fruit baskets for a friend’s business during the holidays. Upon retiring from APD, Peter worked as a trainer at the Zone 5 Police Academy as well as for Graybar Electric, and as Security Sargent at The College of St. Rose.

Pete’s true joy was spending time with his Grandchildren! He was an active and involved Papa, a title he carried proudly. He also loved being outdoors, grilling, spending time with friends and a good joke. He was lucky to spend his last few years in Florida with many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, John and Charles Rozonewski.

Pete is survived by his children, Nicole (Marty) Rezza, Michael (Amy) Walsh, Gabrielle (Roger) Zapata, stepchildren Kelly (Robert) Anderson, Jaime Walsh, and Kierstin (Gerard) Wager, sisters Dorothy Moore, Mary Van Der Veer, brother Robert Ego, and his 14 beloved grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A service with Military Honors will be held on April 2 promptly at 2:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Peter’s name to ALBANY POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE, INC. 844 Madison Avenue Albany, New York 12208
