Castleton- Donald L. Brewer “Brud”, 75, passed away at home on Monday, February 1, 2021. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Clarence “Chunk” and Leitha “Tootie” Brewer.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Brewer.

Brud was a proud veteran who served six years in the United States Navy. Brud worked as a mail carrier for the USPS until his retirement. He was also a volunteer at the Castleton Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children Patrick Brewer (Penny), Amy Rockenstyre (Michael), Cynthia Futia, Stephanie Villa and Rebahka Scaccia (Jayson). He was also the loving “Poppie” to his 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his siblings; Carol Sinclair, Sue Miller and Clarence Brewer “Tiger”.

He is predeceased by his sister; Maryann Prince, brothers; Edward Brewer and Michael Brewer.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 2pm-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A memorial service will begin at 4pm at the funeral home.
