SCHENECTADY- Flora Mae Barbagallo, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 18, 2021 and is now in the presence of the Lord.

She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Jennifer Jane Barbagallo and her brothers: Richard Sweet and Perley Sweet Jr. (Bobby).

She was born in Bennington, VT, to the late Perley and Jennie Sweet.

Flora graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and married Joseph Barbagallo on June 28, 1958 and enjoyed 52 years together. He passed away on July 1, 2010.

She was devoted to the Lord in her ministry and her music. She was the lead of (We Shall Behold Him) Charismatic Music Group at St. Paul the Apostle Church for over 30 years. She was an active member of Al Anon for over 40 years, where she shared her experience, strength and hope with many others.

She loved Jesus and lived to be HIS disciple. She was the matriarch of a large, loving family but mothered many more.

She is survived by her children: Tamera (Paul) Kent, Sharon Barbagallo, Joseph Barbagallo, Suzanne (Scott) Kent; two sisters: Patricia (dec. Patrick) Murphy and Linda (Daniel) Kozlowski. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will be held. A Celebration of her life will be announced in the future.
