Charles C. Petty, 89, of Albany passed away peacefully January 16, 2021. Born in Halifax, VA, he was the son of the late Bee and Lottie (Cosby) Petty.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son Dwight, daughter Charlotte, and sister Nell Brooks.
Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evangelist Betty Petty, children Dwayne (Sandra) Lee, Charlene, Charmelle, Jeffrey (Jennifer), Carla and Christopher Petty, Greg (Leah), Darryl, Markieve and Shawn Slaughter, sister Arlease (Spencer) of VA, 25 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters in law Helen Lee of Fl, and Patricia Beatty, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Dear friends Deacon Joe Thomas, Deacon June Chaney, Pastor Fred Gilmore, Brother Donald Franklin and Brother Joe Brown.
Special thanks to Pastor and First Lady Harper, the Staff of the Cardiac Care Unit and ICU at St. Peter’s Hospital.
A Viewing will be held Friday January 22, 2021 from 10am-11am, with a service at 11, at Agape Apostolic Church of Deliverance, 1010 Madison Avenue, Troy NY.
Social distance practices will be in effect and masks are required in the building.
