COLONIE- Michael C. Schott, 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital. He was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Zuchero) Schott. He was also predeceased by his dear friend, Sharon Danielsen. Mike was a computer programmer for the NYS Legislators Bill Drafting Commission. After over 30 years of dedicated work, Mike was able to retire.

Mike was loved by many and had a generous, thoughtful, fun-loving nature. He was always ready for the next adventure. He enjoyed everything outdoors; hiking, traveling, sightseeing, and biking. Attending live music concerts with groups of friends was one of his all-time favorite things to do. Mike was a master coordinator and planner of fun events and experiences. He welcomed people into his life and readily instilled a feeling of warmth and family. He was a generous soul and a light in everyone’s life. The loss of Michael is profound for everyone who knew him.

Mike is survived by his aunt, Judy Zuchero; Uncle, James Kenney; cousins Stephen Kenney, Patricia M. Kenney, Nancy (Gerrit) Bakhuizen, and Tom (Betsy) Kenney; and his family of loving friends. He is also survived by two special beings who will miss him greatly, Chewbacca and Ziggy.

A celebration of life for Mike will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind at www.guidingeyes.org , or Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society at https://mohawkhumane.org.
