Vincent W. Mosley
1954 - 2020

A Time To Be Born:

Vincent William Mosley was born November 9, 1954, the first son and second child to the late William (Bill) Mosley and Henrietta Golphin-Mosley of Brooklyn, NY.

A Time to Live:

He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1972. During his pre high school and high school years, he became an avid basketball enthusiast and loved playing the game with the neighborhood athletic clubs where he got the nickname “Shotgun” because of his skills. In 1975, the family moved to Queens, NY. Vinny was quiet and east going and had a sense of humor and laughter that was uniquely his, including his very own vocabulary. He stood behind every word he pronounced incorrectly and out of context. If you corrected him, his response was always the same “I was in the neighborhood” and proceeded to laugh at himself. He loved music, dancing and having fun and was totally family oriented.
One day, while out jogging with a friend, a female jogger literally crashed into him. That was the beginning of a lifelong love affair and on June 14, 1981 Ethel Riddick became Mrs. Vincent Mosley. Vinny started working during the summer vacation after high school with his father in the construction business and continued until he retired in 2014 making it a lifelong career.
He then became a full time grandfather taking care of his granddaughters and enjoying them immensely. He was a giver from his heart to everyone.

A Time to Die:

On Friday morning September 18, 2020, God sent his chariot and angels to take him home, although we loved him so much, God loved him more and will be missed by his family and friends and will remain in our hearts, minds and memory forever more.

A Time to Mourn:

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ethel of 39 years; five children: Melody Melerwese, Melissa Monique, Quan Vincent, Juanita Amanda and Thomas; three granddaughters: China, Aniya and Tianna; two sisters: Barbara J. Mosley and Cheryl Mosley- Gilyard; four brothers: Calvin Mosley, Wilbur Wayne Mosley, Timothy Mosley and John Russel Mosley; three brothers-in-laws: James Michael Gilyard, Michael Riddick and Johnny Riddick Jr.; two sisters-in-laws: Wendy Riddick and Wanda Riddick Glover; 24 nieces and nephews: Aukeia and Nathan King, Kemonte Mosley, Lynette Mosley, Ramel Mosely, Jacorah Mosley, Jernayan Allison, Ayanna Mosley, Gerard Mosley, Shakyra Mosley, Tyson Mosley, Julius Mosley, Sh Mosley, Avette Riddick, Michael Riddick Jr. (Tony), Jarett Riddick, Brandon Riddick, Kayla Riddick, Kadara Riddick, Katara Glover, Jason Glover, Darren Glover, Kyle Glover and Rayantha Favorite; seven great nieces and nephews: Austin King, Nathan King Jr., Keiyanna King, Kemonte William Mosley, Kymani Mosley, Ramel Mosley Jr. and Aria Mosley; mother-in-law, Melerwese Riddick; one aunt, Connie Golphin and a host of cousins and friends.
