Nicholas J. Maio, Sr., 90, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at Robinson Terrace, Stamford, NY.
Born July 1, 1929, in Albany, NY, he was the son of Anthony and Rose (Santella) Maio

Nick graduated form Philip Schuyler High School and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worker as a Teamster for Roger Sherman in Albany, NY. He was an active member of the Guilderland Elks Lodge 2480 where he was a devoted volunteer. He enjoyed bowling with the Elks, working in his wood shop and spending time with his family. He also was a devoted Yankees fan.

A devoted husband, father and Papa, he was survived by his beloved wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Maio, His children Nicholas Maio, Jr. (Tina LaBello), Danielle Hawsey (Michael), his grandchildren; Michael, Matthew, Hannah, Isaiah, Jayden, Giovanni and Gianna, and his brothers Frank and Anthony.

Friends and family may call Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 12-3 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Amy Labello for the kind and loving way she cared for Nick while he was at home, and to the staff at Robinson Terrace for continual love, support and care given throughout his stay. Your dedication and individualized attention to “Nicky” was so appreciated!
