He was born on December 2, 1947 son of the late Joseph and Anne Strevell in Albany, NY.
Ronald was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in Vietnam. Ron enjoyed the outdoors, both camping and fishing as well as gardening. He was an avid Nascar fan. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret P. Strevell; 3 daughters, Suean McLaughlin (Charles), Cindy Strevell, Connie Rogers; brother, Matthew P. Strevell, sister, Joanne Boyd; grandchildren, Bethanie Deyo (David), Brianna Rogers, Gabrelle Rogers, Jacob Flower, Samantha Tanner; great-grandchildren, Finlay Gonski and Declan Gonski; his 4 legged friend, Toby and many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Strevell; sister-in-law, Patricia Strevell; brother-in-law, Robert Boyd.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Ron's life will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 12:00pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Calling hours will be from 10am-12pm prior to funeral services.
Interment will follow service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
