Michael W. Jacobson passed away in Hospice at Samaritan Hospital on the morning of Sunday, August 4 after battling heart conditions as well as cancer.

Michael (Mike) was born on April 12, 1951 in New York City to Harry A. Jacobson and Mollie Jacobson (Sarner). He has a brother Neal Jacobson (Janice). Michael was survived by his wife Susan (Schranz) of 33 years, his daughters, Alison Jacobson Campbell, Melisa Jacobson Clay (Nick), his two grandchildren Jack Campbell and Nicholaus Clay Jr., nieces, Sarah Schranz Oliveira (Nuno), Alison Schranz, Rebecca Schranz, nephew Peter Schranz and great-nephew Frederick Oliveira.

Up to the time of his death, Mike was working for the City of Cohoes as Economic Development Director. Previously he was the Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity Capital District.

A remembrance service will be held August 31 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Mike's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 or Habitat For Humanity Capital District, 207 Sheridan Road, Albany, NY 12210.
