Born on October, 25 1932, Joanie was the daughter of the late Ida and Kenneth Ross. Joanie was a graduate of Albany High in 1950. On 0ctober 4, 1952 Joanie married the love of her life, Bob Hotaling. She worked at the family business, Adam Ross Cut Stone, as a teenager and at Lynn and Lynn Law Firm after high school. She worked at Lang Stamp Works with her husband, Bob, for 25 years, and the NYS Assembly, and retired from OGS in 1996 after 18 years. Joanie loved to dance. She also loved to paint, make crafts, and she loved her flower garden. Her favorite flowers were geraniums. She enjoyed her vacations in Maine, and her trips to NYC. She also enjoyed having parties. She was a great hostess. Most of all she loved spending time with her mom and daughter. They were the three musketeers. When her mother passed she and her daughter were inseparable.

A special thanks to Patty and Paula, who along with Robin gave her all the love, care, and support she needed to make her last years comfortable and happy.

Thank you to Dr. Dyer, Dr. Vogel, the Landmark team, and Hospice for their care and support.

Also special thanks to Rosemarie, Heidi, and the entire staff at Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center Daycare, who gave mom wonderful love and care.

Mom, you were a special gift to all who knew and loved you, and you will be missed every day. You will be in my heart FOREVER. Now it’s time to put your dancing shoes on. Love, Robin.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
