Sandra Bloom Martin, 82 passed away January 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Born and educated in Wisconsin, Sandy became a research biochemist and eventually retired from the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health. She was a devoted Mom and an avid gardener, birder and traveler. She visited all seven continents.
Sandra is survived by David, her husband of 52 years; her daughters, Laura Martin (Michael Dawson) of Merced, California and Rachel Martin (Nicholas Caruccio) of Madison, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Sophia and Nathan Caruccio; two sisters, Diana Anderson and Kathleen Soderbloom and brother, Uno Bloom.
A private family celebration of her life is planned.
