COHOES - John A. Toma, 66, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

John was born on June 13, 1952 to the late Anthony and Dorothy (Dover) Toma. John is survived by his beloved daughters, Heather M. Toma, and Erica (Pejay) Toma; three grandsons, Carson A. Toma, Maxx R. Toma, and Oliver J. Toma; his siblings, Ronald (Dawn) Toma, Nancy (David) Radliff, Danny (Vincent) Toma, Joseph (Kathleen) Toma, and Judy (Martin) Safford, along with many nieces and nephews.

John had many passions in life. He loved to work with his hands in carpentry and models; he loved to travel to various States on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, vacation in Lake George with his family, attend car shows and boating events and even worked at Daytona International Speedway. John was adventurous; there was never a dull moment. His laughter was contagious and always guaranteed. He brought life to every occasion. Some of his favorite moments were spent with his grandchildren and family while sharing an Italian Pizza pie. He attended sporting events, and loved sharing stories of his experiences in Jacksonville Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada. He was an avid Florida Gators & NY Mets fan. His greatest passion in life was for the Lord, Jesus Christ. He spoke the Word of God to anyone who came in his path. Even when he had doubt or confusion regarding a life challenge, his Faith was bigger than his Fear. Spreading the good news and drawing people into the Kingdom of God was his most valued desire. He was blessed with Evangelic gifts, worshipped passionately, and never refrained from sharing the truth he knew. John was courageous and steadfast in his faith.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189, on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford, NY.
