Niskayuna- Lucy Sigley, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home.

Born on September 18, 1939 in Allentown, PA, the daughter of the late Linford and Margaret (Smith) Carl. Lucy attended Fountain Hills High School in Fountain Hills, PA, before going to receive her Bachelors in Elementary Education at Moravian College in Bethelem, PA.

Lucy met her loving husband, Richard M. Sigley, Jr in high school and had a loving union of 56 years. She went on to become a grade school teacher before their son, Richard C. Sigley was born. After, Lucy left teaching to raise Ricky, working as a substitute teacher while Ricky was in school. Lucy and her family lived in Pittsfield MA and Seattle WA, eventually settling in Niskayuna for the past 48 years. She loved roses, Starbucks and her beloved Lhasa Apso dogs.

Lucy will be greatly missed by her husband and son, as well as her niece, Diane Carl and her nephews, Jeff & Andy Carl. She was predeceased by her brother, James Carl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, January 21, 2018 at Church of St. John the Evangelist, 806 Union Street, Schenectady, 12308. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
