Born in Albany on September 28, 1982, a daughter of Kathleen Dawson-Mengel and Robert Mengel (Jill). Jamie graduated from Bishop Maginn High School, Class of 2000. For the past 14 years, Jamie has worked at Albany Medical Center as a Medical Assistant. She loved to dance, listen to music and to travel. Most of all, Jamie was a loving mother to her children who were her world. Jamie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Jamie is survived by her loving fiancé, Anibal "Pancho" Madera; her children, Mikhail A. Green and Mckenzie A. Madera; siblings, Robert Mengel (Debbie), Jennifer Cote (Jamie), Cindy Kimmerer and Samantha Mengel; Aunt, Joanne Majkut (Bob) and Uncle, Michael Dawson (Gail); special cousin, Kathleen Flowers; Jamie's dog, Willow. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Jamie will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5pm until 9pm, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC, 20090 or to the American Cancer Society, Conquer Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 896076, Charlotte, NC, 28289.
