In Memory Of
Robert "Bob" M. Kahl
1957 - 2019
Bob was born on May 29, 1957 in Troy and was the son of the late Dane A. Kahl and Joan M. (Mitchell) and Raymond Zeh. Bob was a steamfitter and welder for Local #7 Plumbers & Steamfitters in Latham for over 35 years before retiring in 2017. He came from a long list of generation steamfitters, starting with Uncle Clint and his father Ray along with his brothers, Brian and Bruce. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting with his uncle and friends. He loved his camp at Cossayuna Lake where family and friends gathered. He also enjoyed his man cave with his childhood friend, Casey and all his football buddies where they all enjoyed a "good cold beer". "Bobbo" had a generous heart and was always there to lend a helping hand and give great advice.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharyn "Sherry" A. (Denis); his loving children, Laurel A. Smith, Patrick T. (Christina) Smith, Daniel J. (Alexis) Smith Sr.; his cherished grandchildren, Sonya, Daniel J. Jr., Allie, Johnny and Riley; his brother, Bruce D. Kahl and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his brother, Dane A. Kahl and Brian K. Kahl. He is also survived by his adored puppy, Cossy-Coco.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Niskayuna EMT and ambulance service and the first floor ICU at Ellis Hospital for all their care and concern given to Bob.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
