Libby was born in Cohoes, the daughter of the late Samuel and Antoinette Kwochka Pelesz.
She was predeceased by her sisters: Julia Snay, Molly Stemp, Jennie Sheridan, Anne Rivet, Olga Messier and Alice Walsh; and a brother, Willard W. Pelesz.
She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy as a Chapel Aide. She was a co-founder of the Latham Babe Ruth League. Libby was a member of the Red Hats and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed her camp with her family and was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed her visits to the casinos, playing cards with her sisters, Bingo and doing arts and crafts.
Libby was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, FL and a former communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham.
She was the mother of William Reed, Robert Reed and Kathryn Bonk. She is survived by her 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a sister Pauline Bowen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Zephyrhills Health & Rehab Center for the loving care given to Mom.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours from 10- 12 Noon on Friday, January 11, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. Her service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.
