When not at work, Betty enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was always there with a helping hand for a friend in need. Friends and family will forever cherish laughter-filled memories of her house parties and summer fun by her pool. Betty also enjoyed making craft projects and visiting with her friends.
Betty was predeceased by her first husband Salvatore Genovesi and her sister Millie Pizzemento, who both passed in 1984. She lost her brother, Dominick DiBlasi, in 2008.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Mary Genovesi of Latham, her sister-in-law, Antonina (Val) DiBlasi of Albany, her grandchildren, Deborah Genovesi (Walter Laskos) of Massachusetts, Gina Genovesi of Florida and Marc Genovesi of Latham. Also, her great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Joseph Lavelle of Florida, her nephews Dominick DiBlasi (Lisa) of Albany and Daniel DiBlasi (Joyce) of Clifton Park, three great-nephews and a great-niece, and her long-time friends, Richard Schumacher of Saratoga, Dawn Frankenbeck and Lee Pirri, both of Latham.
Betty was a true original and she will be dearly missed.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY, 12189, on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:30 am with the burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
