In loving memory of Dr. Cristiana B. Gaton DDS, 75. Cristiana died on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family.

Dr. Cristiana Gaton was born March 13, 1943 in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic (DR). She resided in Scotia, New York for over 30 years.

She opened her own dental practice in Amsterdam, NY in the 1980s, where it ran successfully for over 30 years. To many people in Amsterdam, she was known as the “singing dentist”. Everyone who knew her remember her as God-loving, hardworking and happy.

Dr. Cristiana Gaton is survived by her daughter Bernice E. Rivera, granddaughters Shyla E. Rivera, Latisia A.R. Johnson and son-in-law James Johnson and two great grandchildren Semaj & Aalissya Johnson. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones as they continue on her legacy.

Services will commence on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at 50 Sacandaga Road, Scotia, NY 12302. Calling hours will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm and a private service for family and close friends will commence at 1:00pm. Father Neufeld will officiate.

Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.

Those serving as pallbearers will be DeAunte Bethune, Terry Cumberbatch, Luis Grevely and James Johnson.

Memorial flowers may be sent to New Comer Cremations & Funerals at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205 prior to the service for delivery.
