Watervliet- David G. Fumarola, Sr., 52, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 28, 1965 in Roseville, California, he was the son of Bernadette (Foley) Curran of Troy and the late Vincent Fumarola of Watervliet.

David was known for his mischievous wit and sharp sense of humor. He graduated from Cohoes High School in 1983 had been working in IT support for over 15 years, the last four of which were with the state. David was a sports enthusiast and Minnesota Vikings fan. He particularly enjoyed playing baseball and golfing. He was a talented guitar player, photographer and creative writer. He had a love of reading, especially horror and suspense. A life-long comic book enthusiast and collector, he learned that no one can win every battle, but no man should fall without a struggle. No matter how hopeless everything seemed, he never stopped fighting.

David was predeceased by his brother, Michael Fumarola of Troy.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife and partner of over 35 years, Karen (Jones) Fumarola; sons David Fumarola, Jr., Ryan Fumarola, and Dylan Fumarola of Watervliet; siblings Christopher (Kelly) Fumarola of Troy, Jeffrey (Kara) Fumarola of Saratoga, Susan (Charlie) Denue of Wynantskill, Daniel (Jodie) Fumarola of North Greenbush, Erin (Eric) Adams of Troy, and Kelly (Peter) Melaragno of East Greenbush; brothers-in-law Peter (Pamela) Jones of Cohoes and Michael (Veronica) Jones of Mechanicville; as well as several nieces and nephews whom he loved to make laugh.
